We follow privacy standards and practices that are recognized in our industry for the greatest protection of your information, including the Mobile Location Analytics Code of Conduct.
What Information do we Collect?
When you enter a retail store utilizing an eyeQ solution, we capture information pertaining to your demographics and the kinds of products you are interested in. We use video intelligence and mobile location analytics (only if WiFi is enabled) to gather anonymous shopper behavior data.
With video intelligence, our software takes a real-time video feed, analyzes the feed, and stores demographic and product information into our secure database. No video is viewed or stored.
If you have WiFi enabled on your mobile device, eyeQ senses the presence of the device and its signal strength. The WiFi radio within your mobile device has a unique identifier called a Media Access Control (MAC) address. MAC addresses do not contain any identifiable information, and we immediately encrypt the MAC address with a one way hash to de-personalize the data. The MAC address will remain encrypted and will not be decrypted at any time.
The only time that eyeQ collects identifiable information is at the time that you registery with our service and at that time, we collect only the information you provide.
What do we do With This Information?
The primary purpose for the information we gather about your shopping behavior is to improve your shopping experience. Depending on the installation, the information we collect might be used by our devices to update a digital screen to provide more relevant information about the products you might be interested in. When we share this information with our clients, typically retailers, the information is shared in anonymous form – unless you have specifically registered with our service – in which case we may then share individual information.
The information we share with our clients may contain information such as the number of shoppers visited, the amount of time they spend in store, what parts of the store they browse, and how often shoppers repeat. Retailers use this information to optimize marketing campaigns, store layout and product mix. None of the reports we share with our clients contains any personally identifiable information.
Do We Share Data With Third Party Providers?
eyeQ does not respond to government requests unless we believe in good faith that a response is required by law. We require a warrant or court order such as a subpoena before disclosing any of the limited amount of device location data that we possess.
How Long Do We Store Data?
eyeQ retains individual hashed MAC address data for up to 24 months. After 24 months, we only retain hashed MAC address data in aggregate form.
Can I Opt-Out of eyeQ’s Service?
