Full Stack Javascript Engineer

The Nitty Gritty:

  • Location: Austin
  • Position: Full Stack Javascript Engineer
  • Salary: D.O.E., but market competitive.

Who are we, and what do we do?

Through interactive and passive systems, we’re able to deliver powerful analytics to companies based on engagement through traditional methods (think webapp) as well as visual inspection of age, gender, and other attributes. Let’s just say, not many people do what we do – and that’s half the excitement!

We’re just a few people who are making waves in the Retail and Behavioral Analytics industry. No big deal.

Joking aside, we take pride in our products’ abilities, as well as our own – and our customers are also seeing the impact we provide.

As a team we’re highly collaborative, and the whiteboard has definitely paid for itself! Most of us are full stack engineers already, so it’s nice to lean on the experience of another member and pick up a thing or two. Of course we have a keg, and we have outings here and there. But most of all, we’re all working towards the same goal – build cool #*%@!

And why would you want to join?

We’re seeking to continue disrupting the Retail space, providing analytics never thought possible before, with technology we’re all familiar with but used in unfamiliar ways. But let’s not get too carried away, or ahead of ourselves.

If you’re:

  • Excited about new technology,
  • Finding yourself research weird things that confuse the general public (think as general as IoT, passive inputs, HCI, or as specific as system architecture, devops, UX, etc),
  • Love everything about an entire tech stack, and understand each layer,
  • Want to help build a solid, consistent, and “productionalized” set of platforms that not many people are capable of building,

Then you’ll fit in juuuuust fine!

We’re evolving our platforms, and working hard at providing added value along the way, including the ability to scale with our growth. To do that, we need a full stack developer highly skilled in most of these technologies and skills:

  • Can build a GUI interface using Visual Basic to track the killer’s IP address
  • Follow and help build upon existing guidelines, processes, and conventions the team establishes
  • JavaScript/HTML/CSS/Dev Tools
    • node.js/angular.js/grunt/git
  • REST API structuring
    • express.js or more specific node frameworks
    • Ruby on Rails
  • Synchronization Techniques
    • Distributed clusters
    • Sockets and other communication methods
  • Data Storage
    • Both RDBMS and NoSQL, massive files
  • Deployment Mechanisms
    • Docker
    • Continuous Integration
  • Linux – Fluency on CLI
  • All the boring stuff (unit/functional/integration testing, documentation, wireframes, etc)
